Esadax.com offers users the ability to create and restore backups of their cPanel accounts. Below, we'll guide you through the process of creating a backup and restoring it if needed.

How to Create a Full cPanel Backup

Using AutoBackup

  1. Access the AutoBackup Plugin: If you have Premium or Business Hosting, the AutoBackup plugin is available in your cPanel. This feature allows you to create and manage backups automatically.

  2. Schedule a Backup:

    • Navigate to "AutoBackup" in your cPanel.
    • Select the desired backup frequency (Daily, Weekly, Monthly).
    • Choose the storage location (local or remote).
    • Click "Schedule Backup."
  3. Download the Backup: Once the backup is created, you can download it from the AutoBackup section.

Downloading the Backup

  1. Locate the Backup File: After scheduling or creating a backup manually, locate the .tar.gz file in your cPanel's file manager.

  2. Download to Your Computer: Use an FTP client or cPanel's download option to transfer the backup file to your local device.

How to Restore a Full cPanel Backup

Restoring on VPS/Dedicated Server

  1. Access WHM: If you have root access, log in to your Web Host Manager (WHM) via SSH or directly through your control panel.

  2. Transfer or Restore the Backup:

    • In WHM, go to "Transfer or Restore a cPanel Account."
    • Select the backup file and confirm the restoration.
    • Note: This will overwrite existing files, so ensure no important data remains.

Restoring on Shared/Reseller Hosting

  1. Check Hosting Plan: Ensure your plan supports full cPanel backups. Stellar Plus or Business plans allow restoration via AutoBackup.

  2. Use Home Directory Backup:

    • If using a different backup method, select "Restore a Home Directory Backup."
    • Upload the .tar.gz file and follow on-screen instructions.

Important Notes

  • Structure Difference: Restoring a full cPanel backup may create unnecessary files. Use only Home Directory backups for restoration.
