A catch-all email address is an email setup where all incoming emails for a specific domain are automatically forwarded to a designated email account, such as the admin or abuse mailbox. This feature is particularly useful for managing unwanted or spam emails.

Steps to Set Up a Catch-All Email Address

  1. Log into Your cPanel Account To access your cPanel, you'll need to log in using your hosting account credentials. Once logged in, you can begin the setup process.

  2. Navigate to the Email Section In your cPanel dashboard, locate and click on the "Email" section. This will take you to a menu of email-related options.

  3. Select the Default Address Option Within the Email section, find and select the option labeled "Default Address." This will allow you to set up the catch-all functionality for your domain.

  4. Choose Your Domain From the dropdown menu, select the domain for which you wish to enable the catch-all email feature. Ensure that this is the correct domain associated with your hosting account.

  5. Set Up Email Forwarding Check the box labeled "Forward to email address" and enter the email address where you want all incoming emails to be forwarded. This could be your personal email or an abuse mailbox.

  6. Save Your Changes After configuring the forwarding settings, click on the "Change" button to save your preferences. The catch-all email setup will now be active for your domain.

What is a Catch-All Email?

A catch-all email acts as a central inbox for all incoming emails addressed to your domain. This is particularly useful for managing unwanted or spam emails, ensuring that no messages are lost and are instead directed to a specific mailbox.
