Build & Development Settings

When you start a new project using a supported framework, Esadax automatically detects it and configures essential build and development settings for optimal performance. These automatic presets simplify your setup so you can focus on development.

Framework Preset

Esadax identifies your project’s framework (e.g., Nuxt.js, Next.js, React) and applies recommended default settings tailored for that framework. This ensures your project builds and runs smoothly without manual configuration.

Customizing Your Build Settings

While the presets work well in most cases, you can override the following settings to better fit your project needs:

Build Command

The command used to compile your project during deployment. Example default:

npm run build

You can override this to use a custom script or command if your build process differs.

Output Directory

The folder where your build artifacts are generated (e.g., static files, compiled assets). Example default for Nuxt.js:

.nuxt/dist

Override this if your build outputs to a different directory.

Install Command

The command run to install dependencies before building your project. Example default:

npm install

Override if you need to use alternative package managers or custom install steps.

Why Override?

Overriding these settings is useful when:

  • Using custom build scripts or workflows.
  • Your project structure differs from the standard framework defaults.
  • You want to optimize or tweak the build and deployment process.

Summary

Esadax’s automatic framework detection and presets make starting new projects quick and hassle-free. But with the flexibility to override build, install, and output settings, you stay in full control of your project’s build process.
