The Root Directory is the specific folder within your project where your application’s source code resides. By default, this is the root of your repository, but if your code lives inside a subdirectory, you need to specify that folder here.

When to Override the Root Directory

  • If your project’s code is located inside a subfolder (e.g., frontend/, app/, or src/), set the Root Directory to that folder name.
  • Leave this field empty if your code is located at the root level of your repository.

Important Notes

  • Any changes to the Root Directory require a new deployment for them to take effect.
  • You can choose to include source files outside of the Root Directory during build steps. This is useful if your build depends on files located elsewhere in the repository.

Why Configure Root Directory?

Setting the correct Root Directory ensures the build system knows exactly where to find your source code, preventing build errors and speeding up deployments.
