Projects Overview

A project on Esadax is an abstract instance that represents your application or workload running on the platform. Depending on your use case, a project can take different forms:

  • Git-Connected CI/CD Deployment: A workflow that integrates directly with your Git repository to automatically build, preview, and deploy your frontend applications whenever you push code. This streamlines continuous integration and delivery by automating the deployment process from development to production environments.

  • Full-Stack Application: Orchestrated through Esadax’s One Click Apps, where your project runs containerized or orchestrated services with minimal setup.

  • Short-Term or Experimental Projects: Leveraging the Pay-as-You-Go model, ideal for temporary projects where you control when the application runs, and billing is based on active usage time.

What is a Project?

A project serves as a logical container grouping all the components related to your application — deployments, domains, environment variables, access controls, and observability tools.

It abstracts away the complexity of managing infrastructure by providing a consistent interface whether you are deploying a static frontend via Git, a full-stack app via container orchestration, or spinning up short-term workloads on demand.

Project Types on Esadax

1. Git-Connected CI/CD Projects

Connect your project to a Git repository to enable seamless continuous integration and deployment workflows. Esadax automatically builds your app on each commit, creates preview environments for pull requests, and manages production deployments.

2. One Click Apps Projects

Deploy complex full-stack applications quickly using container orchestration and OCI-compliant images. Simply configure environment variables like PROJECT_NAME, USERNAME, PASSWORD, and more — then click deploy. Esadax handles the orchestration and exposes your app via a unique URL with your preconfigured credentials.

3. Pay-as-You-Go Projects

Perfect for short-term experiments or burst workloads. Fund your account upfront and start, stop, or delete your applications whenever you want, paying only for the time your application is actively running. No long-term contracts, no billing surprises.

Project Dashboard Overview

Your project dashboard provides a centralized view and control panel for your application:

  • See all active deployments — production and previews.
  • Manage custom domains and SSL.
  • Configure environment variables.
  • Set deployment protection rules.
  • Inspect deployment status, commit details, and live URLs.
  • Access logs, web analytics, and performance insights.
  • Control firewall settings to safeguard your app.

Project Configuration and Management

Each project supports flexible configuration tailored to your workflow:

  • Connect to multiple Git branches or monorepos.
  • Define environment variables scoped per deployment.
  • Manage secrets and tokens securely.
  • Enable collaboration features and access controls for your team.

Observability & Monitoring

Track your project’s health and usage with integrated tools:

  • Real-time logs and error tracking.
  • Web analytics for visitor insights.
  • Speed and performance audits.

Limits and Error Handling

For details on project resource limits and troubleshooting error codes, refer to the Limits and Error Codes sections.

Supported Frameworks & Platforms

Esadax supports a wide range of frontend and full-stack frameworks, including but not limited to:

  • Next.js (both /app and /pages directories)
  • SvelteKit
  • One Click Apps containers
  • Custom OCI-compatible applications
