To complete Domain Control Validation (DCV) for your SSL certificate, follow these steps:

  1. Set Up DNS Record:

    • If your certificate is for a subdomain (e.g., subdomain.example.com), create a TXT record with the name _pki-validation.subdomain.example.com..
    • For a domain without a subdomain, use _pki-validation.example.com..
  2. Select Method and Click:

    • After setting up the DNS zone on your server or Esadax account, choose the appropriate method (CNAME or TXT) and click "Change and Resend/Retry."
  3. Wait for Initial DCV Check:

    • Once the record is added, Sectigo will perform an initial check. This may take a few minutes.
  4. Additional Steps for OV/EV Certificates:

    • For Organization Validation (OV) and Extended Validation (EV), after DCV, additional validations by Sectigo are required.
    • You may receive a callback phone number verification and an email. If the email is lost, you can resend it or change the address.
  5. Order Status Update:

    • The order status will show "In Progress" until all validations are completed. For OV, this includes phone number and email checks.
    • Once these are done, the status moves to "Second Approval review," which takes up to 2 business days.
  6. Download SSL Certificate:

    • After approval, your SSL certificate becomes available for download from Esadax's account.
  7. Contact Support if Needed:

    • If issues arise during this process, reach out to Esadax Support for assistance.
