To generate the necessary files for your SSL certificate and successfully activate it, follow these organized steps:

  1. Provide Required Information:

    • Organizational Unit Name: Use 'NA' if no specific department is provided.
    • Common Name: Enter your domain name (e.g., example.com or *.example.com for wildcard).
    • Email Address: The email where the certificate will be sent.
  2. Optional Fields:

    • Leave Challenge password and Company name fields empty by pressing Enter when prompted.
  3. Generate Files:

    • Use the command cat server.csr to open the CSR file.
    • Use the command cat server.key to open the private key file.
  4. Copy CSR Content:

    • Ensure the entire CSR content is copied, including headers and footers:
      -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----
      [CSR CONTENT]
      -----END CERTIFICATE REQUEST----

  5. Activate SSL Certificate:

    • Use Esadax's account to activate using the generated CSR code.
  6. Installation:

    • After activation, install the certificate properly on your server or website.
  7. Private Key Caution:

    • Remember the location of the private key file; losing it means you'll need to generate a new one.
